Hello!
Last week we talked about things that can get in the way of healing.
But there's another kind of interference that's even more interesting.
What if your body isn't confused about what to do...
What if it's simply responding to the information it's receiving?
Think about a smoke detector.
Its job is simple:
Detect smoke. Sound the alarm.
But what happens when you burn the toast?
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
There's no house fire.
But the detector received information that said there might be one.
So it did exactly what it was designed to do.
Your body faces the same challenge every day.
It constantly receives information from inside and outside your body—and then has to decide:
What does this mean, and what should I do about it?
Usually, it gets the answer right.
But sometimes it may respond to something harmless as though it's a threat...
Or continue a protective response long after it's useful.
The response may make sense based on the information the body is receiving...
But that doesn't mean the response is helping you.
That's why simply trying to make a symptom disappear can miss the bigger question:
Why is the body producing the symptom in the first place?
Remember:
Intelligence directs healing.
But intelligence depends on information.
That's why our approach isn't simply to tell the body what we think it should do.
We want to discover:
What is the body responding to—and what help is it asking for?
Often the answer isn't what you'd expect.
