WHR is a fast and easy way to measure fat distribution to generally indicate a person's overall health.
 
Studies have shown a remarkable connection between WHR and several health conditions.
 
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that having a WHR of over 1.0 may increase the risks of overweight, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes.
Other studies have found a connection with fertility, recovery from trauma, and high blood pressure.

It's the location of the fat that seems to be important, much more so than just measuring BMI (body mass index).

No More Groggy Mornings
I used to feel very groggy and sluggish in the mornings. Sometimes I would have to just sit on the edge of the bed for 15-20 minutes before I could move any further. Other times, I could hardly move at all, my bones just felt like lead and I often felt drugged. Even after getting up, showering, dressing & eating I could easily lay down and fall back asleep for 2 more hours. Now, I find it very curious that I can wake up, and almost immediately get out of bed and be functional and alert. Being so alert so soon after getting out of bed is very strange. I don't stumble and slump through the next 2-3 hours before feeling truly awake. It is very unusual and strange to feel so clear in the mornings.
